Job Responsibilities

As a Hygiene Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring food safety compliance, sanitation control, and health & safety implementation across catering units and food production facilities.

1. Hygiene Policy Development & Implementation

  • Develop, implement, and monitor hygiene policies, SOPs, and sanitation programs in compliance with UAE local health authority regulations and international food safety standards.
  • Ensure adherence to HACCP principles, food safety management systems, and best hygiene practices across all departments.
  • Conduct regular internal hygiene audits and inspections to maintain high operational standards.

2. Regulatory Compliance & Food Safety Management

  • Ensure strict compliance with sanitation, health, and occupational safety standards within catering kitchens, food service areas, and production environments.
  • Coordinate with regulatory authorities during inspections and audits.
  • Maintain proper documentation, records, and compliance reports as required by UAE food safety regulations.

3. Hazard Identification & Corrective Action

  • Identify potential contamination risks, food safety hazards, and sanitation failures.
  • Implement immediate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Conduct root cause analysis in case of non-conformities and food safety incidents.
  • Monitor pest control programs, waste management systems, and cleaning schedules.

4. Training & Awareness

  • Conduct hygiene and food safety training sessions for kitchen staff, food handlers, and support teams.
  • Promote a strong food safety culture across the organization.
  • Ensure proper implementation of personal hygiene standards, temperature monitoring, and cleaning verification procedures.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • NEBOSH IGC (International General Certificate).
  • Level 4 Food Safety Certification (L4).
  • IOSH Certification.
  • 4–6 years of proven experience in food safety, hygiene supervision, or quality control within catering, hospitality, or food manufacturing environments.
