A catering, company in Abu Dhabi, UAE is looking for a Food Safety Officer with the following:

Job Responsibilities

  • Implement and Maintain Food Safety Management Systems:
    Ensure proper execution of HACCP plans, Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS), and hygiene protocols across all catering operations.
  • Conduct Regular Inspections:
    Perform hygiene and food safety audits in kitchens, preparation areas, storage rooms, food transport vehicles, and service points to ensure full compliance with Abu Dhabi food safety regulations.
  • Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs):
    Verify that CCPs and operational prerequisites are monitored, recorded, and effectively controlled during food production and distribution.
  • Staff Training and Awareness:
    Conduct routine food safety training sessions, refreshers, and toolbox talks for food handlers to reinforce safe working practices.
  • Internal Audits & Corrective Actions:
    Perform internal audits, identify non-conformities, and coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with relevant departments.
  • Manage Documentation & Records:
    Maintain up-to-date and accurate records related to HACCP, temperature logs, cleaning and sanitation, pest control, receiving inspections, and personal hygiene compliance.
  • Incident Investigation:
    Report, document, and investigate food safety incidents, deviations, or customer complaints. Recommend improvements to prevent recurrence.

  • Coordination with Authorities:
    Liaise with Abu Dhabi Food Safety Authority (ADFSA) and ensure adherence to all local food safety regulations, guidelines, and updates.
  • Support Operational Teams:
    Work closely with kitchen staff, supervisors, and management to monitor daily catering activities and ensure safe food handling practices are consistently followed.
  • Promote a Culture of Food Safety:
    Drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster a strong food safety culture across the organization.

Job Qualifications

  • Educational Qualification:
    B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Food Science, or any relevant Life Science discipline.
  • Professional Expertise:
    Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in HACCP, Food Safety Management Systems, internal audits, and compliance with Abu Dhabi food safety regulations.
  • Experience:
    1 to 3 years of experience in food safety or quality roles.
    Preference will be given to candidates with industrial catering experience.
  • Certifications:
    • Food Safety Level 3 OR
    • HACCP Level 4 (Mandatory)
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi
    • Proficiency in MS Office and related documentation tools
    • Strong observation skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to train and guide food handlers effectively
  • Availability:
    Immediate joiners are highly preferred.
