Biotechnology – Regulatory Affairs Officer vacancy in Dubai, UAE is responsible for ensuring full compliance of food and cosmetic products with local and international regulatory requirements. The role involves preparing and managing product registrations, coordinating documentation, supporting label and claims compliance, and working closely with internal teams and external authorities to secure timely approvals for market entry.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare, compile, and submit complete registration dossiers, technical files, and regulatory applications for food and cosmetic products to relevant authorities.
- Manage the entire registration life cycle, including initial submissions, renewals, amendments, and variation updates.
- Monitor and track submission progress, ensuring all approvals, certificates, and regulatory documents are obtained within required timelines.
- Coordinate with internal teams—such as R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, Marketing—and external partners including distributors and regulatory consultants to gather accurate documentation for submissions.
- Ensure all technical documents, test reports, safety assessments, and certificates meet regulatory requirements for the UAE and applicable export markets.
Import Permits
- Work closely with the logistics and supply chain teams to secure import permits for various regions.
- Ensure that all regulatory prerequisites are met prior to product shipment and customs clearance.
Labeling, Packaging & Claims Compliance – Biotechnology – Regulatory Affairs Officer
- Review all product labels, artwork, packaging, and marketing materials to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines for ingredients, nutrition, allergens, warnings, and claims.
- Ensure all product claims (food and cosmetic) are fully substantiated and supported by scientific evidence or regulatory references.
- Collaborate with marketing and packaging teams to implement label corrections or updates and facilitate internal and external approvals.
Regulatory Guidance & Compliance Monitoring
- Interpret regulations and standards and translate them into clear, actionable guidance for relevant departments as Biotechnology – Regulatory Affairs Officer.
- Stay updated on regional and international regulatory changes (UAE, GCC, EU, SFDA, etc.) and communicate impacts to the business.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date regulatory records, submission archives, product registration statuses, and compliance documentation.
Job Qualification
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Food Science, Pharmacy, Chemistry, Life Sciences, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 4+ years of hands-on Regulatory Affairs experience, covering both food and cosmetic product categories.
- Proven experience working with regulatory authorities in the UAE, GCC, and/or international markets.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks including:
- EU Cosmetic Regulation (EC No. 1223/2009)
- GCC Standards & GSO regulations
- SFDA requirements
- UAE SMI, ESMA, and municipality regulations
- Knowledge of ingredient safety assessments, prohibited/restricted ingredient lists, labeling rules, and claims substantiation guidelines.
Skills
