Nutraceutical ingredients and food ingredient solutions Industry in Kerala, India, is looking for a Biotechnologist – Fermentation Specialist with the following:
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, setting up, and monitoring fermentation experiments under controlled conditions.
- Operate bioreactors and fermenters for microbial culture growth, ensuring optimal parameters such as temperature, pH, aeration, and agitation.
- Support process optimization for yield improvement and cost efficiency in fermentation production.
- Participate in downstream processing activities, including separation, purification, and analysis of fermentation products.
- Maintain detailed batch records, fermentation logs, and analytical data in compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Collaborate with the R&D and production teams to scale up laboratory results to pilot and industrial levels.
- Perform routine equipment calibration, cleaning, and maintenance to ensure consistent performance.
- Ensure adherence to GMP, GLP, and biosafety protocols during all operations.
- Troubleshoot fermentation process deviations and assist in implementing corrective actions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support new process development projects.
Job Qualifications
- Educational Qualification: M.Sc., M.Tech, or B.Tech in Biotechnology or Biochemical Engineering.
- Experience: 0–3 years of experience in fermentation, bioprocessing, or industrial biotechnology.
- Knowledge of microbial culture techniques, fermentation principles, and process instrumentation.
- Familiarity with bioreactor operation, downstream processing, and analytical techniques.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based production environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and adherence to safety standards.
