The Bahrain Food Safety Auditor will be responsible for evaluating food safety systems and ensuring client compliance with local and international food safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in food safety management systems, hazard analysis, HACCP, and ISO standards, with excellent skills in conducting audits and preparing reports.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive food safety audits across various food businesses, including manufacturing units, catering establishments, and food service operations.
  • Review and assess documentation, procedures, and records to ensure compliance with HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC, and other relevant standards.
  • Identify non-conformities, potential risks, and gaps in existing food safety systems.
  • Provide professional recommendations and corrective action plans to help clients improve their food safety practices.
  • Evaluate facility layouts, processing workflows, equipment hygiene, and sanitation practices to ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
  • Stay updated on local and international food safety regulations and guidelines (e.g., GSO, GCC, Codex Alimentarius).
  • Prepare clear, detailed, and timely audit reports for internal records and client communication.
  • Collaborate with the consultancy team on training and implementation projects where required.

Job Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Nutrition, or a related field.
  • Certifications:
    • ISO 22000 Lead Auditor or equivalent (mandatory)
    • HACCP Level 3 or above (mandatory)
    • Additional certifications such as FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, or BRCGS are highly desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience in food safety auditing or consultancy roles, preferably in the Middle East.
  • Strong understanding of foodborne illnesses, hazard analysis, preventive controls, and food defense.
  • In-depth knowledge of local and international regulations governing food safety.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify even minor deviations from standards.
  • Strong report-writing and communication skills in English (Arabic knowledge is a plus).
  • Ability to work independently as a freelancer with minimal supervision.
