Amazon Operations Services US LLC is hiring a Retail Food Safety Program Manager with the following:

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize, and enhance Amazon’s Food Safety Operations programs and standard work protocols to ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate training programs to enhance food safety execution at the retail level, ensuring proficiency and effectiveness.
  • Define and manage requirements for third-party vendors, such as pest control and sanitation providers, and oversee their performance.
  • Identify opportunities for leveraging external expertise by sourcing, managing, and collaborating with third-party consultants for validations, research, and benchmarking to continuously improve food safety programs.
  • Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and program metrics to measure performance, track progress, and drive continuous improvement in food safety initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to implement food safety initiatives, ensuring seamless integration with existing operational processes.
  • Prepare and edit detailed business review documents to effectively communicate the health of food safety programs and improvement initiatives.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related field in Online Operations.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing food safety and quality in a large-scale retail or manufacturing environment (multi-store/multi-plant).
  • In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal food regulations, including Food Code requirements.
  • Experience leveraging technology to drive process improvements in food safety operations.
  • Strong program management experience with the ability to execute strategic initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications at an advanced level.

  • Master’s degree in Food Science or a related field.
  • Experience participating in food industry councils and working groups.
  • Experience in online/retail food safety management.
  • Proven ability to implement strategic food safety programs on a large scale.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and compelling narratives.
  • Strong ability to work independently, demonstrating autonomy and self-motivation.
  • Critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting requirements.
