An Agricultural Commodities Company in Dubai UAE is looking for a Food Safety Specialist with the following:
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive inspections and audits of facilities involved in the storage, processing, and distribution of agricultural commodities.
- Develop and implement robust food safety management systems compliant with UAE food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and ISO 22000.
- Monitor supply chains for agricultural commodities to identify potential food safety risks and recommend corrective measures to mitigate these risks.
- Collaborate with agricultural producers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to promote the adoption of sustainable agriculture practices and controlled environment agriculture technologies.
- Deliver detailed training programs for employees and partners on food safety protocols, hygiene practices, and the proper handling of agricultural commodities.
- Maintain meticulous documentation, including audit reports, inspection records, corrective action plans, and compliance certificates, to support regulatory and client requirements.
- Support the development and enforcement of policies and procedures for safe storage, processing, and transportation of agricultural commodities to minimize contamination risks.
- Assist in implementing agri-business management strategies to improve operational efficiencies while maintaining food safety compliance.
- Stay informed of industry trends, regulatory updates, and technological advancements in food safety, sustainable agriculture, and controlled environment agriculture.
- Work closely with quality assurance teams and regulatory bodies to ensure continuous improvement in food safety practices across the supply chain.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Agriculture, Agri-Business Management, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 1 year of professional experience in food safety, with a focus on Agricultural Commodities or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and systems, including HACCP, ISO 22000, and UAE-specific food safety regulations.
- Familiarity with sustainable agriculture practices and innovative methods such as controlled environment agriculture for Agricultural Commodities.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively assess risks and implement practical food safety solutions.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills to engage effectively with team members, stakeholders, and clients.
- Proficiency in using MS Office applications and food safety management software for reporting and documentation.
- Ability to multitask, work independently, and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines and project goals.
