Frozen Desserts Industry in Dubai UAE is looking for a Quality Control Officer. Food Quality Control Officer is critical in ensuring product quality, food safety compliance, and adherence to international standards within a fast-paced dairy and ice cream production environment.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring quality control procedures under the company’s Food Safety Management System (FSMS), supervising production-line quality checks, and driving continuous improvement initiatives aligned with HACCP, GMP, and FSSC 22000 standar
Job Responsibilities
Food Safety & Quality System Implementation
- Implement and monitor quality control procedures in line with the company’s Food Safety Management System (FSMS).
- Ensure full compliance with HACCP principles, GMP requirements, and FSSC 22000 standards.
- Execute all quality tasks in accordance with approved SOPs, work instructions, and internal policies.
Production Line Quality Monitoring
- Oversee quality control activities across frozen dessert production lines.
- Verify in-process checks including:
- Product weight verification
- Coding and labeling accuracy
- Packaging integrity and sealing
- Metal detection and X-ray verification (where applicable)
- Monitor critical control points (CCPs) and ensure proper documentation of monitoring results.
Cleaning, Sanitation & Hygiene Compliance
- Supervise cleaning and sanitation activities in production and storage areas.
- Verify sanitation procedures are conducted according to approved cleaning schedules and SSOPs.
- Participate in sanitation verification activities including ATP testing and environmental monitoring (if applicable).
- Promote and enforce personnel hygiene standards across the facility.
- Provide coaching and on-the-floor guidance to production operators regarding hygiene and GMP practices.
Nonconformance & Product Hold Management
- Ensure all nonconforming raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products are:
- Properly segregated
- Stored in designated hold areas
- Clearly labeled with “Nonconforming” tags
- Coordinate with the Quality Control Manager regarding product disposition decisions including rework, rejection, or safe disposal.
- Maintain accurate nonconformance records and assist in root cause investigations.
Documentation & Record Control
- Maintain accurate quality control records in compliance with FSMS requirements.
- File and archive documentation correctly as per internal document control procedures.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing required quality documentation.
Continuous Improvement
- Assist in developing and enhancing QC procedures to improve product safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Participate in corrective and preventive action (CAPA) implementation.
- Contribute to ongoing food safety culture and quality awareness initiatives.
- Perform other quality-related tasks within the job scope as assigned by the Line Manager or QC Manager.
Job Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Dairy Technology, Food Technology, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in food manufacturing, preferably within dairy, ice cream, or frozen dessert production.
- Working knowledge of:
- HACCP
- GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
- FSSC 22000
- Sanitation verification procedures
- Nonconformance handling and product hold systems
