Vacancy for Microbiology – Quality Executive to support quality assurance and food safety operations in a baby food manufacturing environment. The role involves microbiological and quality analysis of raw materials and finished products, compliance with ISO 22000:2018 standards, and ensuring the highest levels of safety and hygiene for infant nutrition products.

Job Responsibilities

Quality & Microbiological Analysis

  • Perform microbiological and quality analysis of raw milk, donor milk, and finished baby food products to ensure compliance with internal specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct routine and non-routine testing for quality evaluation using approved laboratory methods.
  • Handle and operate laboratory instruments and equipment as per SOPs and safety guidelines.

Documentation & Record Management

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date testing records, batch records, and quality documentation for raw materials and finished goods.
  • Prepare, standardize, and store reagents, culture media, and solutions as required for laboratory testing.
  • Ensure all quality records are compliant with ISO 22000:2018 and internal quality management systems.

Donor Screening & Compliance

  • Support the approval and screening of donor mothers by reviewing test reports, medical documents, and compliance records as per company and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure strict adherence to hygiene, traceability, and documentation standards for donor-related activities.

Shelf Life & Trend Analysis

  • Participate in shelf-life studies for baby food products and dairy-based formulations.
  • Perform trend analysis of microbiological and quality data to identify deviations, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) based on analysis results.

Laboratory & Hygiene Management

  • Maintain Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) at all times.
  • Ensure periodic cleaning, sanitization, and fumigation of laboratory areas and equipment.
  • Monitor environmental hygiene and support food safety audits and inspections.

Food Safety & System Compliance

  • Ensure all laboratory and quality practices are followed in line with ISO 22000:2018, food safety policies, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Assist during internal, external, and certification audits by providing necessary data and documentation.

New Product Development & Operations Support

  • Provide quality and microbiological support for new product development (NPD) and process trials.
  • Coordinate with production, procurement, and R&D teams for quality-related activities.
  • Make field visits to suppliers or operational sites and manage shifts as required to support quality operations.

Job Qualification

  • Master’s Degree in Microbiology / Dairy Microbiology (mandatory).
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in microbiological and quality testing of dairy and food products, preferably baby foods or infant nutrition.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 22000:2018, HACCP principles, and food safety systems.
  • Experience in laboratory testing, data recording, trend analysis, and shelf-life evaluation.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications and quality documentation systems.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently as well as within a team.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Willingness to manage shifts and adapt to operational requirements.
