Food Technologist – Airlines Catering opportunity in a leading Airlines Flight Catering company in Dubai, UAE with the following:

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of food processing technologies across EKFC operations
  • Support the Senior Manager in project budget management, cost control, and operational efficiency initiatives
  • Design and improve food processing systems and machinery for bakery, processed meats, chilled foods, and frozen ready-to-eat meals
  • Optimize food manufacturing processes to enhance product quality, safety, yield, and efficiency
  • Lead product preservation and shelf-life extension strategies through reformulation, process optimization, and packaging innovation
  • Food Technologist – Airlines Catering must provide technical expertise in mixing, freezing, heat transfer, mass transfer, refrigeration, and thermal processing
  • Manage product scale-up from pilot plant trials to full-scale commercial production
  • Implement and maintain food safety and quality systems including QMS, HACCP, GMP, QA, and QC standards
  • Ensure compliance with local and international food safety regulations of Airlines Catering.
  • Collaborate with Nutritionists, Microbiologists, Production Chefs, Quality, and Operations teams
  • Integrate nutrition labeling, food safety, and quality requirements into all product development activities
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement projects to reduce waste, improve yield, and optimize resource utilization
  • Develop and maintain process specifications, equipment parameters, and SOPs
  • Ensure high standards of sanitation, hygiene, and operational safety across production lines
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Food Technologists, managing workloads and technical performance
  • Support innovation and concept development aligned with aviation catering and large-scale food production

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Engineering, Food Process Engineering, or Food Technology
  • Master’s degree in a related field is preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in food processing or food engineering within FMCG / CPG manufacturing
  • Proven experience in team leadership, technical project management, and budget control
  • Experience in aviation catering, airline catering, or hospitality food production is an added advantage
  • Strong technical knowledge of:
    • Fluid dynamics in food processing
    • Heat and mass transfer operations
    • Freezing and refrigeration systems
    • Thermodynamics applied to food manufacturing
  • Solid understanding of food science, microbiology, and food safety regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with HACCP, GMP, QA, QC, and ISO standards.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a high-volume production environment.
  • Innovative mindset with a focus on process improvement and cost optimization.
  • High attention to detail with strong documentation and compliance skills.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
