Food Safety Consultant and Training Company in Kerala, India is looking for a Food Inspector with the following:
Food Inspector to join a inspection team in Kochi, India. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting inspections of food and agricultural products, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, regulations, and client specifications. This role requires field-based inspections at food processing units, cold storages, and packaging facilities, as well as office-based documentation and reporting.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections of food and agricultural products to verify compliance with national and international food safety standards (FSSAI, ISO 22000, HACCP, etc.).
- Examine labeling, packaging, and storage conditions to ensure they meet quality and safety regulations.
- Collect and seal food samples for laboratory testing in accordance with Food Safety Consultant – Food Inspector inspection protocols.
- Review production, hygiene, and sanitation practices in food handling and processing facilities.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, maintain accurate documentation, and update internal records.
- Communicate findings with clients, laboratories, and internal teams to ensure timely resolution of non-conformities.
- Support team members with report reviews, data validation, and follow-up documentation.
- Conduct on-site audits and visual inspections in diverse work environments such as processing plants, warehouses, cold storage units, and open-field areas.
- Stay updated on food safety laws, government regulations, and inspection procedures.
- Promote TÜV SÜD’s commitment to safety, sustainability, and quality assurance throughout all inspection activities.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Agriculture, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in food inspection, food quality control, or a related technical inspection role.
- Strong understanding of food safety management systems, ISO 22000, HACCP, and GMP guidelines.
- Excellent observation and analytical skills with attention to detail.
