A Catering Company in Abu Dhabi – UAE is looking for a Food Safety in Charge for their Catering Operations; looking for candidates with Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, Public Health, or a related field is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Oversee daily catering operations to ensure full compliance with UAE food safety laws, Abu Dhabi Municipality requirements, HACCP guidelines, and internal company policies.
- Food Handling Oversight: Monitor and verify that all food storage, preparation, cooking, and serving activities are carried out under safe and hygienic conditions to prevent contamination.
- Conduct Food Safety Audits: Carry out routine inspections of kitchen areas, storage facilities, transport units, and service points to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Training & Awareness Programs: Plan and deliver regular training sessions for kitchen and service staff on safe food handling practices, cross-contamination prevention, allergen management, and hygiene standards.
- HACCP Documentation: Maintain up-to-date HACCP records, temperature logs, cleaning schedules, and inspection reports for internal audits and municipal inspections.
- Incident Investigation: Investigate any reported food safety concerns or non-conformities, identify root causes, and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Coordination with Management: Collaborate with the operations and quality assurance teams to ensure continuous improvement in food safety performance.
- Municipality Liaison: Serve as the main point of contact for Abu Dhabi Municipality during inspections, audits, and certification renewals in the central kitchen.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, Public Health, or a related field is preferred.
- Professional Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Food Safety In-Charge, Food Safety Officer, or similar role in catering, hospitality, or food manufacturing.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of HACCP principles, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), ISO 22000, and UAE municipal food safety regulations.

- Training Requirements: Must be willing and able to complete Abu Dhabi Municipality Food Safety In-Charge training within the first 3 months of employment.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to identify risks quickly, analyze situations, and implement corrective measures without delay.
- Adaptability: Able to work flexible shifts, including weekends or public holidays, in a fast-paced catering environment.
