 Food Safety Manager Dubai – As the Food Safety Manager – Dubai – Airlines, you will be responsible for leading and implementing a robust Food Safety Management System (FSMS) across Flight Catering airline catering operations. You will define food safety objectives, develop policies, and guide cross-functional teams to ensure full compliance with global food safety standards, customer requirements, and local regulatory frameworks. This role will also lead the organisation’s efforts toward BRC accreditation, reputation as a world-class catering partner in the aviation sector.

Job Responsibilities

  • Food Safety Strategy & Leadership
    •  Food Safety Manager Dubai – Airlines Catering food safety objectives and translate them into actionable policies and procedures that align with business goals and regulatory requirements.
    • Lead the Food Safety and Microbiology teams to ensure the consistent application of high food safety standards across production, handling, and storage areas.
  • Audit, Compliance & Risk Management
    • Conduct regular internal audits and inspections to assess food safety performance, identify potential hazards, and initiate timely corrective actions for non-compliance issues.
    • Represent Airlines Catering during external audits, including customer, third-party certification, and government inspections.
    • Maintain accurate audit records to demonstrate continual improvement and legal compliance.

  • Technical & Operational Support
    • Provide technical food safety input during the development and launch of new products (NPD), concepts, and processes to ensure alignment with HACCP principles and FSMS requirements.
    • Support operations by evaluating food safety risks during actual production runs and offer practical mitigation strategies.
    • Lead the periodic review and update of customer guidelines, legislative changes, and integrate them into systems like FSSC 22000, BRC, ISO 17025, and HALAL.
  • Stakeholder Coordination & Continuous Improvement
    • Collaborate with cross-functional departments, including Operations, Production, Procurement, and Engineering, to ensure FSMS implementation is embedded into daily practices.
    • Recommend and implement improvements in departmental work processes that fall under the scope of food safety certifications.
    • Drive a culture of food safety awareness through ongoing training and engagement initiatives.

Best Practices in Food Safety
  • Pest Control & External Services Management
    • Manage and monitor the pest control contract and ensure the service provider adheres to established procedures and Dubai Municipality regulations.
    • Act as the primary contact for food safety concerns from external stakeholders and resolve issues with professionalism and urgency.

Qualifications – Food Safety Manager Dubai

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • Certified in HACCP and trained in GFSI-benchmarked standards such as FSSC 22000 and BRCGS.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a food safety management role at a managerial or supervisory level, preferably in airline catering, large-scale food production, or manufacturing.
  • Proven expertise in food microbiology and laboratory management is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience in implementing and maintaining food safety systems aligned with FSSC 22000, BRC, HALAL, and ISO 17025 standards.
