Biotechnologist vacancy at a leading Women’s & Children’s Hospital in Sharjah, UAE with the following:

Responsibilities

  • Conduct advanced laboratory procedures such as in vitro fertilization (IVF), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), and embryo culture with a high level of technical accuracy.
  • Manage the complete oocyte retrieval and sperm preparation process, ensuring optimal gamete quality for fertilization.
  • Perform embryo grading and selection based on standardized morphological and developmental criteria.
  • Carry out embryo freezing and thawing using the latest vitrification protocols to preserve embryo viability.
  • Execute embryo biopsy procedures for preimplantation genetic testing (PGT), ensuring minimal harm to the embryo (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of all lab activities, patient cycles, and clinical outcomes in accordance with data protection standards.
  • Ensure full compliance with laboratory quality control protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and Ministry of Health (MOH) regulations.
  • Participate in the laboratory’s quality assurance and improvement programs, contributing to audits, validations, and updates of SOPs.
  • Collaborate closely with clinicians, nurses, and other embryologists to ensure optimal patient outcomes and laboratory efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology, Biotechnology or a related life sciences discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience working as a Clinical Embryologist in a high-volume IVF laboratory.
  • MOH License or Eligibility Letter is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in ICSI, embryo culture, vitrification, and thawing techniques.
  • Proven experience in embryo biopsy for PGT is a strong advantage.
  • Excellent attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to work precisely under pressure in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with a collaborative and patient-focused approach to work.
