A water bottling company in Umm Al Quain, UAE is looking for a Water – Quality Controller with the following:
Job Responsibilities for Quality Controller – Water
- Take water samples for testing and analysis (routine sampling may be done by technicians).
- Prepare samples and perform laboratory testing to assess chemical or microbiological parameters of water.
- Evaluate the taste and clarity of drinking water to ensure quality.
- Analyze, interpret, and report on water quality data, identifying trends and assessing compliance with regulatory standards.
- Conduct daily laboratory quality control checks to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Visit sites of concern, such as potential pollution sources or complaints about water quality, to assess risks and gather information.
- Liaise with customers and regulatory authorities to address water quality concerns.
- Conduct quality audits and lead investigations into unusual water quality findings.
- Investigate causes of lapses in water quality and suggest changes or solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Provide expert advice to businesses on how to avoid water quality issues, particularly in relation to effluent discharge.
- Negotiate effluent discharge fees with businesses.
- Contribute to water quality improvement projects and collaborate with teams to implement solutions.
- Inspect customers’ premises and construction sites, including the installation of drains, for compliance with regulations.
- Investigate pollution incidents from both scientific and legal perspectives, and recommend actions.
- Arrange for emergency responses in case of pollution-causing incidents.
- Conduct research on water quality, organize field surveys, and document findings.
- Share relevant water quality information with professionals from other regulatory agencies.
- Follow health and safety protocols to ensure personal and workplace safety.
Job Qualifications for QC – Water
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in water quality testing, analysis, and quality control.
- Strong knowledge of water chemistry, microbiology, and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO, HACCP, ESMA).
- Experience in laboratory testing procedures and water sampling methods.
- Proficient in analyzing and interpreting water quality data.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and risk assessment in water quality.
- Excellent problem-solving and investigation skills for addressing water quality lapses.
- Ability to conduct site visits, assess potential pollution sources, and handle customer complaints.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills for liaising with customers and regulatory authorities.
- Experience conducting quality audits and leading investigations into atypical water quality issues.
- Proficiency in providing recommendations and solutions to improve water quality.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to contribute to water quality improvement projects.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations and adherence to safety procedures in laboratory and field settings.
- Knowledge of pollution control measures and emergency response protocols.
