A fresh-from-frozen bread and pastry manufacturer in the GCC is hiring a Senior Quality Officer with the following:

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation and adherence to food safety standards, including HACCP, GMP, and ISO protocols.
  • Conduct routine inspections and audits of raw materials, production processes, and finished goods to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all quality assurance activities, including testing results, audit reports, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality regulations and assist during external audits.

  • Identify areas of improvement in production and quality processes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with production teams to minimize defects and reduce wastage.
  • Train staff on food safety practices, quality control procedures, and personal hygiene as per PIC certification standards.
  • Investigate customer complaints related to product quality or safety and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor workplace hygiene and safety to ensure compliance with occupational health standards.
  • Conduct regular hygiene inspections to uphold bakery industry standards.
  • Assist in product trials and development, providing quality assurance expertise.
  • Collaborate with procurement, production, and R&D teams to ensure high-quality baked goods.

Job Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology or a related field.
  • Certifications:
    • PIC (Person In Charge) certification (mandatory).
    • Additional certifications in HACCP, ISO 22000, or other food safety systems are advantageous.
  • Experience:
    • 2-3 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control in the bakery industry.
    • Familiarity with food safety audits and production inspections.

  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of bakery manufacturing processes and quality control systems.
    • Proficiency in using laboratory equipment for food quality testing.
    • Excellent communication skills for staff training and interdepartmental coordination.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to address quality issues.
    • Good organizational skills to manage documentation and reporting.
  • Visa Preference: Candidates on visit visas or canceled visas are preferred.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Knowledge of UAE food safety regulations and Dubai Municipality standards.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
