Quality Controller at leading Seafood processing company in Abu Dhabi UAE with 2-3 years of experience in Quality Control within the seafood industry. The role involves inspecting and testing raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. You will play a key role in maintaining product quality, plant sanitation, and adherence to food safety standards from the point of material receipt to final shipment.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Inspection and Testing:
    • Inspect raw materials and finished products for compliance with company specifications and industry standards.
    • Conduct sensory, chemical, and microbiological testing of seafood products.
  2. Production Line Monitoring:
    • Perform online inspections on production lines to ensure process consistency and adherence to quality parameters.
    • Monitor and document process specifications, including hygiene, sanitation, equipment functionality, packing integrity, and labeling accuracy.
  3. Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure all quality control procedures align with HACCP and ISO standards.
    • Stay updated with UAE health regulations and ensure practical application within the production process.
  1. Supplier Quality Management:
    • Conduct supplier inspections, document findings, and promptly report non-conformance issues for resolution.

  1. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Prepare and maintain detailed inspection and quality control reports.
    • Support audits and ensure traceability of products through accurate documentation.
  2. Team Supervision:
    • Supervise and guide the quality control team, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to protocols.
    • Conduct training sessions for staff on quality and food safety procedures.

Job Qualifications

  1. Educational Background:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries, Food Science, or a related field is preferred.
  2. Experience:
    • 2-3 years of proven experience in quality control within the seafood industry, with a strong understanding of seafood handling and processing.
  3. Technical Knowledge:
    • Hands-on experience with HACCP, ISO standards, and food safety regulations.
    • In-depth knowledge of UAE health regulations and seafood industry best practices.
  4. Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify non-conformance issues effectively.
    • Proficient in preparing detailed quality control and inspection reports.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  5. Team Leadership:
    • Proven ability to supervise and train team members to maintain high-quality standards.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualities of seafood Quality Controller

  • Practical knowledge of seafood microbiology and sensory evaluation techniques.
  • Familiarity with equipment calibration and production floor quality assessments.
  • Certifications in HACCP, ISO 22000, or equivalent food safety management systems will be an added advantage.
