A Restaurant Group in Dubai, UAE is looking for a Hygiene Supervisor with the following:
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee Hygiene Standards
- Develop, implement, and enforce hygiene and sanitation policies and procedures.
- Ensure consistent adherence to these policies and procedures by all staff members.
- Conduct Inspections and Audits
- Regularly inspect all areas of the restaurant, including kitchens, dining areas, storage, and restrooms, to maintain cleanliness.
- Identify hygiene issues and take immediate corrective action.
- Prepare the restaurant for both internal and external audits.
- Hands-On Training and Mentorship
- Conduct training sessions for staff on hygiene best practices, food safety, and sanitation.
- Mentor staff by working alongside them, ensuring proper techniques are followed, particularly during peak hours.
- Food Safety Management
- Oversee food handling, preparation, and storage to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Monitor and record food temperatures, expiration dates, and storage practices.
- Manage food safety incidents directly, implementing corrective measures as needed.
- Pest Control Implementation
- Manage and monitor pest control measures within the restaurant.
- Take proactive steps to prevent infestations, addressing issues immediately if they arise.
- Incident Response and Reporting
- Respond swiftly to hygiene-related incidents, such as foodborne illness reports or contamination risks in Restaurant as a Hygiene Supervisor.
- Document incidents thoroughly and report them to higher management if necessary.
- Maintain Hygiene Records
- Keep up-to-date records of hygiene inspections, staff training, and any incidents.
- Ensure all documentation is organized and accessible for reviews or audits.
- Collaborate with Kitchen and Operations Teams
- Work closely with kitchen and operations teams of the restaurant to ensure hygiene standards are integrated into daily operations.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving any hygiene-related challenges in the workflow.
- Compliance Management
- Ensure the restaurant complies with all local and national health regulations.
- Stay informed about changes in regulations and adjust policies and practices accordingly.
- Continuous Improvement
- Continuously seek ways to improve hygiene practices and food safety standards.
- Introduce new cleaning products, tools, or techniques that can enhance hygiene in the restaurant.
- Reporting to Senior Management
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on the restaurant’s hygiene status, areas for improvement, and any critical incidents.
- Suggest strategic initiatives to enhance overall hygiene and safety in the restaurant.
Qualifications – Restaurant Hygiene Supervisor
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in managing hygiene and sanitation in a restaurant or related industry.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, mentor, and guide staff effectively.
- Valid driving license of the Middle East.
This role involves both managerial oversight and direct involvement in day-to-day operations, ensuring that the highest standards of cleanliness and safety are consistently maintained.
