A seafood processing company in Dubai, UAE is hiring a Quality Controller with the following experience in seafood processing :

Job Responsibilities

  • Inspect and Test Raw Materials: Conduct thorough seafood processing inspections and tests on all incoming raw materials. Fresh seafood monitoring to ensure they meet the product specifications and quality standards.
  • Inspect Finished Products: Perform detailed inspections of finished seafood fresh fish products to verify that they meet quality specifications. Ensure frozen fishes, mussels or crabs product integrity and compliance from the raw material stage to finished product shipment.
  • Monitor Plant Sanitation: Ensure that plant sanitation standards are maintained throughout the production process.
  • Ensure hygiene practices and environmental conditions are met as per FSMS food safety policy in the Frozen food Industry.
  • Conduct Online Production Line Inspections: Regularly inspect production lines during operations to ensure compliance with set quality standards.
  • Focus on seafood processing lines for hygiene, sanitation, equipment, and production methods of seafood processing.

  • Check Product Specifications: Verify that frozen fish products meet specific standards for quality, correctness of fill and packaging appeal. Time-temperature conditions, and other relevant parameters during seafood processing.
  • Report Supplier Inspection Issues: Promptly report any issues or non-conformities identified during supplier inspections to ensure immediate corrective action.
  • Prepare Inspection Reports: Document inspection findings in the required format, ensuring all necessary details are included as per HACCP and ISO system requirements.
  • Compliance with UAE Health and Hygiene Regulations: Ensure all quality control processes and practices align with UAE health and hygiene regulations, and be knowledgeable about local authorities’ practical applicability and expectations.
  • Supervise Quality Control Team: Lead and manage a team of Food quality controllers. Food Safety Team members adhere to quality control procedures and maintain high standards of work.

Job Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in food science, food technology, or fisheries or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in Quality Control within the seafood industry, with a strong understanding of industry-specific quality standards and practices.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of HACCP, ISO systems, and UAE health and hygiene regulations, with practical experience in applying these standards in a production environment.
  • Skills: Strong inspection and testing skills, with the ability to identify and resolve quality issues quickly and effectively.

  • Team Leadership: Proven ability to supervise and lead a team, ensuring all quality control activities are performed efficiently and to the highest standard.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail, focusing on maintaining product integrity and ensuring all quality specifications are met.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to report findings clearly and collaborate effectively with other departments.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying quality issues and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
