An FMCG company in Dubai, UAE is looking for a Quality Assurance Technician with the following:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Quality Control Tests: Perform regular quality checks on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Microbiological Analysis: Conduct microbiological tests to identify contamination, microbial growth, and ensure food safety. Analyze results and report findings accurately.
  • Monitor HACCP and GMP Compliance: Ensure adherence to HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Conduct internal audits and corrective actions where needed.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Stay up to date with local and international food safety regulations, ensuring the company complies with all applicable laws.

  • Document and Report Findings: Prepare detailed reports of quality issues, test results, and inspections. Keep accurate and organized records of all quality control activities.
  • Identify and Resolve Quality Issues: Investigate quality issues, analyze root causes, and work closely with the production team to implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Cross-functional Teams: Work alongside production, R&D, and other teams to maintain and improve quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Maintain and Calibrate Testing Equipment: Ensure that all laboratory and quality testing equipment is functioning correctly and is regularly calibrated.
  • Support Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Participate in projects aimed at improving quality control processes and food safety management systems.
  • Train Staff on Food Safety Protocols: Assist in training production staff on food safety standards and best practices to ensure a culture of safety and quality.

Job Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • HACCP Certification: Must hold a valid HACCP certificate.
  • Microbiology Knowledge: Hands-on experience with microbiological testing and analysis is an added advantage.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a quality control or quality assurance role in the food industry, with a focus on food safety and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Food Safety Regulations: Strong understanding of food safety standards, including HACCP, GMP, and relevant local and international regulations.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficient in conducting tests, interpreting results, and identifying potential quality and safety issues.
  • Attention to Detail: Must have excellent attention to detail, with the ability to spot and address minor deviations from quality standards.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to document findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Problem-solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot, analyze root causes of quality issues, and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Teamwork: Able to work effectively in a team environment, particularly with production and R&D teams.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in using computer software for data analysis, reporting, and documentation.
