A Restaurant Group in Abu Dhabi, UAE is looking for a Quality Assurance Specialist with the folloiwng:

Job Responsibilities

  • Quality Control and Monitoring:
    • Implement and maintain a comprehensive food safety and quality assurance program.
    • Inspect raw ingredients and finished products to ensure they meet safety and quality standards.
    • Monitor food preparation and serving practices to ensure compliance with company standards and government regulations (e.g., HACCP, ISO).
    • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for food safety, handling, and hygiene.
    • Conduct regular audits and inspections of kitchen areas, storage, and equipment.

  • Food Safety Management:
    • Ensure compliance with local food safety laws and regulations.
    • Oversee the implementation of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) systems.
    • Ensure proper sanitation and hygiene practices are followed throughout the restaurant.
    • Develop training programs on food safety and hygiene for kitchen staff and servers.
  • Vendor and Supply Chain Management:
    • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure ingredients meet the restaurant’s quality standards.
    • Evaluate and approve suppliers based on quality, safety, and cost.
    • Track and document all food safety certifications for suppliers.

  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain detailed records of quality checks, inspections, and food safety incidents.
    • Prepare reports on food safety and quality performance for management.
    • Investigate and resolve any quality-related issues or customer complaints.
    • Ensure proper labeling of food items (expiration dates, allergens, etc.).

  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify areas for improvement in the food production and service process.
    • Recommend changes to processes to increase efficiency, quality, and safety.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and changes in food safety regulations.

Job Qualifications

  • Required:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in food quality assurance, preferably in the hospitality or food service industry.
    • In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and standards (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP).
    • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Preferred:
    • Certification in food safety and quality management systems (e.g., HACCP, ISO, ServSafe).
    • Experience working in a restaurant setting or with a similar food service operation.
