A Restaurant Group in Abu Dhabi, UAE is looking for a Quality Assurance Specialist with the folloiwng:
Job Responsibilities
- Quality Control and Monitoring:
- Implement and maintain a comprehensive food safety and quality assurance program.
- Inspect raw ingredients and finished products to ensure they meet safety and quality standards.
- Monitor food preparation and serving practices to ensure compliance with company standards and government regulations (e.g., HACCP, ISO).
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for food safety, handling, and hygiene.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of kitchen areas, storage, and equipment.
- Food Safety Management:
- Ensure compliance with local food safety laws and regulations.
- Oversee the implementation of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) systems.
- Ensure proper sanitation and hygiene practices are followed throughout the restaurant.
- Develop training programs on food safety and hygiene for kitchen staff and servers.
- Vendor and Supply Chain Management:
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure ingredients meet the restaurant’s quality standards.
- Evaluate and approve suppliers based on quality, safety, and cost.
- Track and document all food safety certifications for suppliers.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of quality checks, inspections, and food safety incidents.
- Prepare reports on food safety and quality performance for management.
- Investigate and resolve any quality-related issues or customer complaints.
- Ensure proper labeling of food items (expiration dates, allergens, etc.).
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for improvement in the food production and service process.
- Recommend changes to processes to increase efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and changes in food safety regulations.
Job Qualifications
- Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in food quality assurance, preferably in the hospitality or food service industry.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and standards (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP).
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Preferred:
- Certification in food safety and quality management systems (e.g., HACCP, ISO, ServSafe).
- Experience working in a restaurant setting or with a similar food service operation.
