Quality and Food Safety Specialist role available at a gluten-free fresh prepared food Company in Sydney, Australia with the following:
Responsibilities
- Leading the development, implementation and ongoing administration of the SQF quality management system.
- Developing product specifications and PIFs.
- Writing and developing programs to requisite standards, and implementing change to drive results.
- Checking and verifying weekly data records.
- Hands-on involvement on the factory floor – spending time on the factory floor, conducting weekly GMP audits, observing and verifying production processes.
- Ensuring all food safety records are up-to-date.
- Liaising with production and packing teams regarding food safety matters.
- Conducting training for new and existing staff.
- Conducting internal reviews and GMP audits.
- Hands-on involvement in new product development, shelf life verification.
- Oversee administrative processes such as pest control, lab sampling, calibration.
- Raising and closing corrective actions and customer complaints.
- Continuous monitoring and improvement of food safety and quality systems to ensure our products are best in class in the market.
- Acting as the key point of contact for all external food safety audits.
Qualifications
- Formal qualifications in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Safety, Microbiology or related fields.
- Formal training or experience with HACCP, FSSC22000, BRC and SQF systems.
- A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar Food Safety or Quality Assurance Role.
- Sound knowledge of external customer standards (Woolworths, Coles, Costco).
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to drive change.
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
- Self-starter takes the initiative to implement new ideas and systems to improve food safety and quality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to manage internal and external stakeholders (employees, customers, regulatory bodies etc).
