Nutrition Specialist wanted at leading recruitment consultancy in Abu Dhabi, UAE with the following:

As a Nutrition Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring food safety, hygiene, and adherence to food safety standards in our restaurant. Your responsibilities will encompass the receipt, storage, and preparation of food items, meals are presented acceptably, audits account records for meal provision, and maintains daily and weekly follow-up records. You will also oversee the implementation of maintenance work in the catering company’s restaurants, prepare inventory and periodic maintenance records, participate in committees related to nutrition services, prepare and analyze nutrition statistics, and coordinate with the contracted nutrition company.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Food Safety and Hygiene:
    • Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are strictly followed in the restaurant.
    • Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain high standards of food safety.
  2. Supervision of Food Receipt and Storage:
    • Supervise the process of receiving food items, ensuring they meet quality standards.
    • Oversee the methods of storing food items to ensure freshness and prevent contamination.
  3. Meal Preparation and Presentation:
    • Supervise the preparation of meals, ensuring they are nutritious and of high quality.
    • Ensure that meals are presented in an acceptable and appealing manner.
    • Monitor the quantity of meals served to students to ensure proper portion control.
  4. Accounting and Record Keeping:
    • Audit the records of the accounting system for meals provided to students.
    • Maintain daily and weekly follow-up records related to restaurant operations.
  5. Maintenance and Inventory Management:
    • Follow up on the implementation of maintenance work in the catering company’s restaurants.
    • Prepare and manage inventory records and periodic maintenance schedules.
  6. Committee Participation and Coordination:
    • Participate in committees related to the nutrition services provided and follow up on their work.
    • Coordinate with the contracted nutrition company to ensure seamless service delivery.
  7. Statistics and Analysis:
    • Prepare statistics on nutrition and analyze questionnaires to gather insights and improve services.
    • Use data to develop strategies for enhancing the quality of meals and nutrition services.

Job Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field or A Master’s degree.
  • Certification: Registered Dietitian (RD) or Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS).
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a nutritionist or dietician role, preferably in a restaurant or catering setting.
  • Knowledge:
    • Extensive knowledge of nutrition and dietetics nutrition.
    • Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations.
    • Experience with prepared meal service and healthy meal service.
  • Skills:
    • Strong supervisory and management skills.
    • Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
    • Proficiency in using accounting and inventory management systems.
    • Analytical skills for preparing statistics and analyzing data.

  • Attributes:
