Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain Hygiene and Sanitation Standards: The Hygiene Supervisor ensures that all food provided to guests and staff is contamination-free and that work environments meet hygiene standards.
  • Manage HACCP Food Safety System: Consolidate food safety data, handle customer complaints, and communicate findings to management and Heads of Departments (HODs).
  • Lead Self-Audits: Conduct bi-monthly self-audits following HACCP guidelines to ensure adherence to hygiene standards.
  • Implement Best Hygiene Practices: Ensure the implementation of best hygiene practices, providing training and taking corrective actions where necessary.
  • Hygiene Standards Compliance: Propose and enforce minimum hygiene standards in all areas, including workspaces, storage areas, receiving areas, and waste disposal areas.
  • Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of the hotel’s sanitation and hygiene efforts and programs.
  • Liaise with External Agencies: Maintain communication with external agencies, including labs and government bodies, on sanitation matters.
  • Manage Waste Disposal: Supervise segregation, storage, and disposal of all waste types, including hazardous and confidential waste.
  • Support Departments: Provide assistance and coordinate with department heads on hygiene-related issues across the hotel.
  • Corrective Actions Implementation: Assist in implementing and verifying corrective actions from inspections, audits, and microbiological sampling.
  • Conduct Hygiene Training: Collaborate with department heads to train food handlers and enhance their hygiene and food safety practices.


Job Qualifications

  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related fields.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of work experience in a similar role within the hospitality or food production industry.
  • Certifications: Must have HACCP and Food Safety certifications.
  • Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
    • Ability to handle multi-faceted projects independently.
    • Effective communication skills to interact with team members at all levels.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of kitchen hygiene practices and occupational health and safety standards.
