Food Technologist wanted at Dubai, UAE with leading Flavours and Fragrances company with the following responsibilities and qualifications:

Job Responsibilities

Evaluation and Selection of Flavours:

  • Compound seasonings and flavour formulas developed by the Flavourist.
  • Apply and evaluate flavours for snacks and savoury applications based on relevant briefs.
  • Proactively monitor the performance and stability of flavours.
  • Select optimal flavours for projects, ensuring alignment with taste profile, legislation, technical suitability, and cost requirements.

  • Prepare state-of-the-art flavoured products and samples for customer presentations and capability demonstrations.
  • Identify and implement appropriate flavour delivery systems and technologies.
  • Translate market trends into new product concepts and developments.

Innovation

  • Support the development and implementation of new technologies in collaboration with broader teams and Innovation Centres within the region and globally.
  • Assist in marketing initiatives and train the commercial team and customers on new capabilities.

Maintain Systems

  • Actively maintain performance data for the flavour portfolio by evaluating finished products and capturing profiles.
  • Ensure timely ordering of raw materials and maintain in-house stock for all lab activities.

Prioritise Safety

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized lab environment by adhering to and enforcing Givaudan safety policies.

Job Qualification

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or Food Technology. Advanced studies or certifications will be advantageous.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience focussing on applications for the Snacks & Savoury categories in a food application lab, R&D, or a production facility, with a Flavour house or a reputed company in the food or ingredients sector. 
  • Experience in industrial product development and leading customer projects will be advantageous.

  • Have a strong passion and interest in new flavours and foods with well-developed tasting skills.
  • Have excellent project management and presentation skills.
  • A good awareness of market trends. 
  • Strong oral and written proficiency in the English language.
  • A team player and comfortable with diversity.
