A leading dairy industry in Kuwait is looking for a Food Science Researcher with the following:

Job Responsibilities

  • Tackling scientific problems related to metabolic health and nutrition, providing in-depth scientific analysis, and identifying and communicating actionable intelligence and solutions for scientific and industrial problems related to ingredients, product formulation, and commercial viability.
  • Executing multiple scientific investigations, as assigned, simultaneously over time, guided by the Executive Manager of Human & Environmental Health, and collaborating across teams and departments at KDD, including an independent Scientific Advisory Team (SAT) of consulting/collaborating scientists thus contributing as a food science researcher.
  • Reading and understanding relevant scientific literature.
  • Meticulously recording, analyzing, interpreting, and communicating findings into concise, coherent, and compelling narratives which is key for a food researcher.
  • Based on results and outcomes, suggesting and testing modifications to protocols and research methods and foci.
  • Preparing reports, figures, and diagrams for presentations and publications performed by a skilled Food Science Researcher.
  • Communicating results and collaborating with other professionals in the lab, in addition to approved external partners to meet the food science goals.
  • Providing consistent and high quality intellectual input into the design and implementation of products and projects.
  • Presenting findings at meetings, proactively responding to challenges, and participating in constructive exchanges of ideas and critiques to advance the science of metabolic health and nutrition and to accelerate product developments supported by strong science.
  • Contributing to the preparation of articles on research outcomes and progress and supporting KDD in publishing scientific and industrial accomplishments in various publications and formats.
  • Participating in the editing and proofing of scientific grant proposals, reports, and manuscripts for publication and recommending modifications to managers and investigators as a diligent food science researcher would.
  • Comply with Health, Safety and Environment regulations and working practices of KDD and the State of Kuwait when carrying out duties.
  • Compile actionable research reports and feedback on product developments, with a focus on developing commercial potential. 
  • Supporting the Nutrition Department by systematically organizing and building scientific resources, information, and methodology.
  • Support the Nutrition Department Kitchen Lab, conducting a variety of quantitative and qualitative analyses and experiments focused on innovative product development as a Food Science Researcher would.
  • Organizing and cataloging scientific literature and reports.

Food Science Researcher- Qualification

  • Education: Master’s in biochemistry or food science or another degree in a relevant field suitable for a food scientist. 
  • Work Experience: 4 to 5 years as a food researcher.
  • Experience in the food and beverage industry related to food science and bio-chemistry.
  • Two years of relevant work experience in a similar role with food science expertise.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams. Fluency in databases and analytical/statistical software is a plus.
  • Experience and ability to use a range of visual presentation tools and formats to communicate complex scientific ideas in concise and compelling terms which is essential for a food science researcher.
