Dubai Offshore Sailing Club – Dubai UAE is hiring a Food Safety and Hygiene Officer with the following experience in food safety inspections, HACCP:
Job Responsibilities
- Hygiene and Food Safety Inspections:
- Conduct regular hygiene and food safety inspections to ensure compliance with local and international standards.
- Identify potential risks and provide corrective action plans.
- Policy Implementation:
- Develop, implement, and update hygiene and food safety policies and procedures.
- Monitor the effectiveness of food safety programs handled by the Food Safety and Hygiene Officer.
- Training and Awareness:
- Deliver food safety and hygiene training to staff at all levels (including proper handling, storage, and disposal of food products).
- Promote awareness of hygiene standards and best practices among employees, led by a qualified Food Safety and Hygiene Officer.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with UAE health and safety laws, including food safety and infection control standards.
- Stay informed about changes in food safety regulations and industry trends, ensuring practices are up-to-date and compliant.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, training sessions, and compliance reports as a Food Safety and Hygiene Officer.
- Risk Management:
- Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate hygiene and food safety hazards.
- Provide recommendations for improving safety and hygiene practices.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments to ensure hygiene standards are integrated into daily operations.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities during inspections and audits.
- Emergency Response:
- Address and manage hygiene-related incidents promptly and effectively.
- Support the organization’s emergency response plan, especially in areas concerning health and safety.
Educational Qualifications
- Minimum: A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Public Health, Environmental Health, Food Safety, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in hygiene, sanitation, or safety roles (preferably in healthcare, food, or hospitality sectors).
- Food Safety or Hygiene Certifications (e.g., HACCP). First Aid/CPR certification is also beneficial for a Food Safety and Hygiene Officer.
- Experience using the Foodwatch portal and reporting.
- Knowledge of hygiene standards and regulations in the UAE. Ability to conduct hygiene inspections, risk assessments, and prepare corrective action reports as part of the Food Safety and Hygiene Officer’s duties.
- Ability to perform inspections and manage cleaning duties in various environments.
