Seeking an experienced and highly motivated Food Safety Lead Auditor to join certifiation and training team in Kochi. This full-time, on-site role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in Food Technology, Food Science, and Quality Assurance, who are passionate about ensuring food safety compliance across food manufacturing and processing operations.
The Food Safety Lead Auditor will be responsible for planning, conducting, and reporting food safety audits, evaluating Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS), and ensuring compliance with ISO 22000, HACCP, and other applicable food safety standards. The role also involves delivering food safety training, supporting clients with compliance requirements, and recommending continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Plan, conduct, and lead food safety audits for food manufacturing, processing, catering, and related food industry clients
- Evaluate and verify the effectiveness of Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS) in line with ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP, and regulatory requirements
- Prepare detailed audit reports, non-conformity reports, and corrective action follow-ups
- Ensure compliance with national and international food safety regulations and standards
- Provide food safety training and awareness sessions to clients and internal teams
- Offer expert recommendations for process improvement, risk reduction, and compliance enhancement
- Work closely with clients to support the implementation and maintenance of food safety systems
- Collaborate with internal quality and technical teams to ensure consistent audit practices
- Travel to client sites for on-site audits and assessments as required
Qualifications – Food Safety Auditor
- Strong educational background in Food Technology, Food Science, or related disciplines
- Proven experience in Food Safety Auditing and Quality Assurance
- Sound knowledge of ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP, and food safety regulations
- Experience in delivering food safety training programs and workshops
- Excellent analytical, documentation, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a client-facing role
- Willingness to travel for on-site food safety audits
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or a related field
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Food Safety, or Auditing roles
- Previous experience in food safety auditing or certification bodies is an added advantage.
