Job Responsibilities
- Oversee and inspect the entire food production lifecycle, from raw material sourcing and purchasing to meal preparation, packaging, storage, and final customer delivery, ensuring full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
- Review and approve incoming raw materials and ingredients by verifying supplier specifications, conducting visual inspections, weight and temperature checks, and rejecting or returning non-conforming items.
- Monitor in-process production activities to ensure low-calorie meal prep meet defined quality parameters, portion control standards, nutritional specifications, and food safety requirements.
- Conduct routine visual, physical, and measurement inspections during food preparation, cooking, cooling, packing, and dispatch stages, and communicate corrective actions to kitchen supervisors and operations managers when deviations are identified.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records and documentation, including daily inspection logs, hygiene and sanitation reports, equipment calibration records, and non-conformance reports.
- Track and analyse quality performance metrics, such as defects per batch, healthy meal plans delivery, low-calorie meal prep customer complaints, kitchen audit scores, hygiene inspection outcomes, and corrective action effectiveness.
- Monitor the safe use, cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen equipment and food handling tools like eatingwell meal plan, reporting any unsafe or non-compliant equipment to management for immediate action.
- Perform finished product sampling compliance, packaging integrity, shelf-life standards, and adherence to approved specifications.
- Conduct food safety, hygiene, and quality awareness training for kitchen staff, production teams, and delivery personnel to reinforce best practices and regulatory compliance.
- Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company’s Food Safety & Quality Management System, including HACCP, GMP, and SOPs.
- Investigate customer complaints and quality incidents, perform root cause analysis, and prepare corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans for identified non-conformities.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports to the line manager, highlighting risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with Dubai Municipality, MOH, and UAE food safety regulations, particularly those applicable to healthy meal plans, diet catering, and ready-to-eat foods.
Job Qualifications – Food Quality Controller Dubai
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in a Quality Control / Quality Assurance role within the catering, healthy meal plan, hospitality, or hotel industry.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related food background.
- HACCP Level 3 certification is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, hygiene practices, quality inspection methods, and UAE regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with quality testing equipment, food monitoring systems, and inspection tools.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, reporting and documentation).
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Confident, professional, and approachable personality with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Currently based in the UAE and well-versed with Dubai Municipality and MOH food safety regulations.
