Content Writer Responsibilities
- Create high-quality, research-driven content on food safety, HACCP, ISO standards, FDA compliance, FSMA, food hygiene, and global food regulations.
- Write and optimize SEO-friendly articles, blogs, website pages, newsletters, social media posts, whitepapers, and industry reports.
- Translate technical food safety concepts into easy-to-understand, engaging content tailored for food manufacturers, food handlers, QA/QC professionals, and regulatory teams.
- Conduct in-depth research on US food regulations—including FDA, USDA, FSIS, GMPs, and FSMA—to ensure all content is accurate and up to date as a Content Writer – Food Safety.
- Collaborate with SMEs, quality managers, and regulatory experts to gather technical inputs and create authoritative content.
- Review, proofread, and fact-check all content to maintain accuracy, clarity, compliance, and brand consistency.
- Develop content strategies based on US food safety trends, emerging technologies, recalls, regulatory updates, and industry best practices.
- Plan and maintain an editorial calendar that aligns with marketing goals, SEO targets, and industry events.
- Optimize content for search performance, including keyword research, metadata creation, and structuring for readability.
- Create visually engaging materials, including infographics, checklists, and training-friendly content formats.
- Support marketing and communication teams with food safety-related copy for e-learning, brochures, emails, and product guides.
- Monitor content performance analytics and refine content based on user engagement and SEO metrics.
Job Qualifications Content Writer – Food Safety
- degree in Food Science, Food Technology.
- 2–4 years of experience in content writing, technical writing, or educational writing for the food industry or regulatory sector.
- Strong knowledge of US food safety regulations, including FDA, USDA, FSMA, GMPs, HACCP, and food labeling laws.
- Exceptional English writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to simplify complex scientific concepts for diverse audiences.
- Experience with SEO tools (Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Yoast, etc.) and content marketing strategies.
- Ability to create both technical and creative food safety content tailored to industry professionals.
- Familiarity with digital marketing, keyword research, and content performance analytics.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to scientific accuracy and regulatory integrity.
- Ability to work independently with remote teams across different time zones.
- Knowledge of food industry processes, food microbiology, sanitation practices, and quality systems is an advantage.
- Experience writing for US-based food companies, food safety agencies, or training organizations is preferred.
