Morrisons UK is hiring a Quality Assurance Technician for Knaresborough, UK location with the following:

Job Responsibilities

  • Monitor and Control Production Processes:
    Oversee daily production activities to ensure adherence to company quality procedures, product specifications, and food safety standards. Regularly review process parameters and verify compliance with HACCP, GMP, and BRC requirements.
  • Quality Auditing and Compliance:
    Conduct internal quality and hygiene audits across various production lines to verify compliance with Morrisons Manufacturing Standards, customer requirements, and legal regulations. Report and document findings promptly.
  • Non-Conformance Management:
    Identify, record, and communicate any non-conformities observed during production. Collaborate with the production and technical teams to ensure corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) are implemented and verified.
  • Root Cause Analysis:
    Investigate food safety incidents or product quality issues using root cause analysis (RCA) tools such as 5 Whys or Fishbone Diagrams. Recommend and support effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Support During Audits and Certifications:
    Assist in preparing documentation and evidence during external audits and inspections, including BRCGS Food Safety, customer audits, and internal reviews. Provide on-floor support during external accreditation visits.
  • Product Launch and Process Validation:
    Work closely with NPD (New Product Development), Production, and Technical teams to ensure new product lines are launched successfully and meet all quality and safety requirements. Participate in validation and verification checks before full-scale production.
  • Data Recording and Reporting:
    Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and audit findings in compliance with company documentation systems. Prepare daily and weekly QA reports for the Technical Manager.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Contribute to the site’s continuous improvement programs by identifying opportunities for process enhancement, waste reduction, and quality optimization.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment, preferably within a UK or BRC-certified facility.
  • Strong knowledge of Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS), HACCP, GMP, and BRCGS standards.
