Dubai Food Retail in Dubai, UAE is looking for a Quality Assurance Officer with the following :

Job Responsibilities

  • Process & Compliance Monitoring
    • Oversee daily production activities to verify compliance with FSMS, HACCP, GMP, and hygiene standards.
    • Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs), prerequisite programs, and operational checks to prevent food safety risks.
    • Ensure adherence to cleaning and sanitation protocols across facilities.
  • Quality Issue Management
    • Investigate deviations, non-conformances, and customer complaints by conducting root cause analyses.
    • Recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to avoid recurrence.
    • Track and report recurring issues, ensuring closure of open non-conformances.
  • Training & Awareness
    • Deliver training sessions on food safety, GMP, personal hygiene, and FSMS to new and existing staff.
    • Support onboarding induction programs for production and hygiene staff.
    • Drive food safety culture initiatives across the organization.
  • Audits & Risk Assessments
    • Actively participate in internal audits, external certification audits, and regulatory inspections.
    • Conduct risk assessments for health, safety, and quality hazards within the facility.
    • Lead mock recalls and traceability exercises to validate system effectiveness.
  • Documentation & Reporting
    • Maintain accurate records including food safety reports, non-conformance logs, cleaning schedules, and audit documentation.
    • Prepare and submit weekly QA reports highlighting trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
    • Assist in updating SOPs, flowcharts, and training manuals in collaboration with QA Technologists.
  • Supplier & Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Liaise with suppliers and third-party contractors to ensure compliance with quality standards.
    • Support raw material verification, supplier audits, and vendor performance assessments.
    • Collaborate with Production and Hygiene Supervisors to address quality-related concerns.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Contribute to continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing product safety, consistency, and customer satisfaction.
    • Act as a backup to the Hygiene Supervisor when required, ensuring uninterrupted oversight of sanitation practices.

Job Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.
  • Experience:
    • 2–4 years of hands-on experience in quality assurance within food manufacturing or FMCG industries.
    • Strong exposure to HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, and local UAE food safety regulations.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in risk assessment methodologies, root cause analysis, and CAPA implementation.
    • Knowledge of food microbiology, quality testing methods, and sanitation practices.
    • Skilled in documentation control, audit preparation, and compliance reporting.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong leadership abilities with experience mentoring QC staff and guiding cross-functional teams.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with internal teams and external stakeholders.
    • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
    • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a proactive, solution-driven approach.
