Food Safety and Hygiene Officer wanted at a leading retail and Hypermarket Restaurant chain in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all food handling, preparation, and service processes within a retail chain facility comply with the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and regulatory requirements. This role requires strong knowledge of HACCP, food safety audits, and hygiene management to maintain a safe and compliant environment.

Job Responsibilities – Food Safety and Hygiene Officer

  • Develop, oversee, and implement effective food safety and hygiene policies across daily operations of retail Stores.
  • Conduct routine inspections, internal audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with HACCP and ISO standards.
  • Monitor food storage, preparation, and distribution processes to ensure alignment with food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Provide training, coaching, and awareness programs for staff on hygiene practices, personal hygiene, and food safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and records of inspections, audits, corrective actions, and compliance activities in the fast foods.
  • Collaborate with management and production teams to address non-conformities, identify root causes, and implement preventive and corrective measures.
  • Ensure compliance with local municipality regulations, international food safety standards, and company-specific requirements.
  • Act as the key point of contact during external audits, inspections, and certifications related to HACCP, food safety management systems and food hygiene.

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience as a Food Safety Officer, Hygiene Officer, or similar role in the food industry, catering, hospitality, or manufacturing sector.
  • HACCP Level 3 Certification (mandatory).
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000, and local food safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver effective training and awareness programs to staff.
  • Strong reporting, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail with a proactive approach to ensuring food safety compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
