BRCGS – Food Safety Management System and global supply chain assurance programmes are looking for a Food Safety Technical Support – London, England, United Kingdom Location.
Responsibilities
- Technical Document Development: Contribute actively to the creation, review, and continuous improvement of technical standard documents to ensure they meet the highest industry and regulatory requirements.
- Meeting Support: Attend and support key technical meetings, including Technical Advisory Committees and Working Groups. Accurately record, organise, and distribute detailed meeting minutes and action points to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Documentation Quality and Accessibility: Enhance the formatting, standardisation, and accessibility of technical documentation. Ensure that documents are harmonised across the organisation and easily accessible to internal teams and external partners such as certification bodies, certified sites, and auditors.

- Consistency Across Tools and Templates: Maintain and update standardised tools and templates, including audit protocols, inspection checklists, and reporting frameworks. Ensure consistency in language, format, and technical accuracy across all materials.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Coordinate with other business functions of BRCGS – Food Safety—such as IT, Training, Sales, and Marketing—to ensure that any changes or updates to technical content are properly reflected in connected systems, materials, and communications.
- Project Management: Manage and support designated projects or specific sets of documentation, such as developing new audit tools, creating additional standard modules, or updating guidance documents. Oversee these projects from initial drafting through to final implementation and release.
- Technical Query Support: Provide support in addressing technical queries from internal teams, certified sites, auditors, and other stakeholders. Monitor and analyse recurring questions or emerging trends to update guidance materials and FAQs accordingly.
Job Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent professional experience) in Food Science, Bioscience, or a closely related discipline.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to draft clear, structured, and precise technical documentation and guidance.
- Industry Experience: Practical experience in food safety, quality assurance, technical support, or certification/auditing processes within the food or related non-food sectors.
- Standards Knowledge: Solid understanding of ISO management systems standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 22000). Holding a HACCP Level 3 certification is desirable and advantageous.
- Auditing Competency: Prior hands-on experience in auditing or formal lead auditor training is highly beneficial.
- Personal Attributes: Highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive. Capable of managing multiple tasks and working effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
