Job Responsibilities
- Implement, monitor, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) throughout production facilities, food assembly areas, and HACCP lines to maintain the highest standards of food safety and quality.
- Oversee all aspects of the HACCP program, including documentation, routine audits, monitoring critical control points, and investigating any deviations or non-compliance issues.
- Conduct regular quality control inspections, trend analyses, and maintain detailed records of findings, customer complaints, and corrective/preventive actions taken.
- Lead Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) audits, hygiene inspections, foreign object controls, and food safety checks; communicate findings to operational teams along with clear corrective action plans.
- Investigate microbiological testing results, identify root causes of any issues, and ensure prompt corrective measures are implemented to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure full compliance with sanitation requirements for all internal and external inspections, pest control measures, and daily hygiene protocols.
- Supervise routine locker and changing area inspections to maintain cleanliness standards; oversee proper handling and inventory of cleaning chemicals, ensuring all Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are up to date and appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is available.
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure a consistent supply of food-grade cleaning chemicals and maintain compliance with all applicable regulations governing chemical usage in food facilities.
- Perform supplier audits to verify compliance with company food safety and quality standards and follow up on any corrective actions required.
- Collaborate with production managers, R&D, and other department heads to support the introduction of new products, processes, and related SOPs.

- Lead investigations into customer complaints or quality concerns related to suppliers or products; ensure thorough documentation and follow-up to resolution.
- Design and deliver food safety and hygiene training programs for new hires, as well as annual refresher and targeted training for all staff levels.
- Work closely with supervisors and the HR department to reinforce hygiene and safety protocols, address any non-compliance, and ensure corrective actions are properly implemented.
- Support new hire onboarding by promoting a strong culture of food safety, hygiene, and continuous quality improvement from day one.
- Lead internal safety and hygiene incident investigations, ensuring thorough documentation and timely reporting.
- Monitor, track, and report key hygiene and quality performance indicators, using data to drive improvement initiatives.
- Champion a culture of proactive risk management, continuous improvement, and accountability in hygiene, food safety, and quality assurance practices.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Safety, Food Science, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in hygiene, food safety, and quality assurance within a food manufacturing, foodservice, or catering environment.
- HACCP Certification (Required).
- PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) certification (Preferred).
- Training or certification in ISO 22000 and/or SQF (Safe Quality Food) standards (Preferred).
- State-specific Food Safety Certification (if required).
- Strong working knowledge of HACCP principles, GMPs, ISO, SQF, and FDA/USDA regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience conducting audits, interpreting data trends, and implementing corrective and preventive actions effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, vendors, and regulatory authorities.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as operational needs require.
