Freelance Food Safety Auditor wanted for in-depth on-site evaluations and training to uphold and enhance wanted for in-depth on-site evaluations and training designed to uphold and improve food safety, hygiene, brand standards, and overall guest satisfaction for our clients. Your work will play a critical role in protecting our clients’ brand reputation and helping them meet or exceed quality and regulatory expectations.

Job Responsibilities – Freelance Food Safety Auditor

  • Conduct comprehensive food safety, brand standard, and occupational health and safety audits at client premises across various food service and hospitality sectors.
  • Deliver customized coaching and training to clients on best practices in food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with internal account management teams to identify issues, resolve client concerns, and improve performance outcomes.
  • Maintain a consistent schedule, meeting weekly audit targets to ensure optimal service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Stay updated with industry-leading food safety standards, regulatory updates, and local health department inspection trends.
  • Prepare and submit accurate, detailed audit reports and ensure strong client communication and relationship management.
  • Provide recommendations and action plans to address non-conformances and support continuous improvement.

Job Qualifications

  • Level 4 qualification in Food Safety (required)
  • Must be located in or near the designated auditing territory
  • Own reliable transportation with a full, clean driving license
  • Availability to conduct audits during weekdays, weekends, or evenings as needed
  • Proven experience in food safety auditing or inspection roles
  • Strong background in hospitality or food service industries

Freelance Food Safety Auditor – Skills

  • Recognized food safety certifications (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000, BRC, NEHA CP-FS, REHS, or RS)
  • Hands-on experience with retail or hospitality food safety reviews and compliance programs
  • Previous training, teaching, or coaching experience in food safety or related disciplines
  • Excellent interpersonal and client relationship management skills
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational abilities
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  • Adept at problem-solving, prioritizing tasks, and performing under pressure to meet deadlines
  • This is an independent consulting role partnering with Ecolab, not a direct employment position.
