Danone MENA is looking for a Healthcare Nutrition Specialist (Medical Representative) to be based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Job Responsibilities
- Position the company’s healthcare nutrition solutions as the preferred choice for HCPs.
- Conduct periodical visits to healthcare professionals (HCPs) in hospitals, health clinics, private clinics, and private hospitals to establish strong, science-based relationships.
- Utilize scientific argumentation and relationship-building skills to influence HCP decisions.
- Illustrate the benefits of healthcare nutrition solutions effectively to HCPs.
- Organize and conduct scientific audio/visual meetings for HCPs to enhance understanding and engagement.
- Ensure all doctors, HCPs, and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) receive accurate messages, information, and clinical studies.
Area Management
- Implement and manage a “weekly call cycle” in coordination with the direct manager.
- Identify business opportunities within the assigned area and develop business initiatives to maximize potential.
- Monitor and respond to competitive activities, recommending actions to maintain and protect market position.
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of products to explain features and answer HCP queries confidently.
- Review the business plan quarterly with the Head of KSA to align with cycle objectives.
- Address and follow up on customer queries or complaints.
- Prepare and submit reports on promotional activities as per established formats and schedules.
- Ensure business practices comply with the WHO and local government ethical codes for infant formula products.
- Conduct seminars and nutrition education activities for targeted audiences.
- Manage daily databases and adhere to administrative procedures and processes.
- Meet qualitative and quantitative key performance indicators (KPIs) on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis.
3. Team Input:
- Participate in daily and/or weekly meetings to discuss market dynamics, address challenges, and evaluate progress against monthly KPIs.
- Contribute to the organization and execution of seminars and events.
4. Intelligence and Insights Gathering:
- Gather intelligence on the HCP landscape, identifying new contacts and potential opportunities.
- Monitor and report competitor activities, including consumer offers, medical conferences, and round tables.
- Conduct medical detailing face-to-face calls with HCPs across the defined geographical area.
- Build strong relationships with targeted HCPs and map decision-making networks in the region.
- Execute promotional activities with targeted HCPs to build brand loyalty.
- Update competitor intelligence and input the information into the database.
- Document and report on call visits, activities, and progress toward objectives.
- Attend and actively participate in internal meetings as required.
Job Qualifications
- BSc. in Medical, Science, Pharmacist or Dietitian
- 2-5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical/medical sales with HCPs, ideally paediatricians.
- Experience in the Nutrition field is a plus.
- Fluent in English and Arabic
- Resident in Riyadh, based in Saudi Arabia or willing to relocate to Riyadh with valid driving license.
