PepsiCo Dammam, Saudi Arabia is looking for a Quality Assistant Manager with the following:
Responsibilities
- Facilitate and supervise on-line plant quality performance, including on-line and RMPM acceptance (product, materials, equipment, and process), with interaction and guidance for chemists and lab technicians at PepsiCo.
- Ensure updated standards and methods are followed per AMENA Quality, R&D specifications, and government requirements.
- Ensure non-conforming products are identified using the Hold & Release protocol and are not dispatched.
- Lead the implementation and sustainment of PI food safety standards across the plant, conduct monthly food safety audits, and coordinate with departments to address food safety issues.
- Investigate consumer and customer complaints effectively, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and report back within the specified timeframe.
- Lead the department in achieving EHS KPIs, including near misses, chemical management, and compliance with standards at PepsiCo.
- Conduct annual audits such as Global QAS and ASHA, address findings through structured action plans, and coordinate with FLMs of other departments.
- Manage quality department activities during regulatory inspections, ensuring timely resolution of hygiene/food safety findings.
- Develop and execute a Quality & Food Safety training plan for the entire plant workforce and contract laborers.
- Ensure all analytical instruments are operational, tidy, and calibrated as scheduled while adhering to 5S requirements.
- Manage third-party pest control contracts to maintain a pest-free facility.
- Ensure Quality and Food Safety requirements are met in laboratories and production areas, with updated PI standards and regulatory compliance.
- Interact with relevant functions to resolve quality issues, including holding FGRMPM and implementing action plans at PepsiCo.
- Lead investigations of quality-related complaints and oversee the follow-up action plans.
- Support and monitor the implementation of Safety, Food Safety, and IPS programs.
- Support productive, innovative, and developmental projects related to product and packaging.
- Conduct annual audits using QSHA and ASHA forms, and lead action plan meetings to address observed gaps.
- Hold authority to stop production lines and hold non-conforming products in case of violations.
- Engage in discussions with peers and plant leadership to develop action plans for resolving quality issues.
- Manage day-to-day activities and staff schedules at PepsiCo.

- Prepare and issue periodic reports on Key Process Indicators (KPIs), including staff performance and scheduling.
- Address lab and staff needs promptly, including training, PPE, chemicals, office supplies, uniforms, etc.
- Conduct shift-wise line inspections and take immediate corrective actions for non-compliance.
- Implement, sustain, and contribute to the continual improvement of the EHS Management System (MS) per legislation, PepsiCo GEHSMS, and EHS standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science (Chemistry, Microbiology, or Food Science) relevant to PepsiCo standards.
- Knowledge of ISO22000 / HACCP standards.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills to engage cross-functional peers effectively.
- Functional excellence and expertise in laboratory instruments, as expected by PepsiCo.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a supervisory position within a food manufacturing company.
- Strong subject knowledge to lead a team of qualified chemists.
