A leading Abu Dhabi-based food and beverage company is hiring a Quality Assurance- Bakery Tester with the following:

Job Responsibilities

  1. Perform daily standardized baking tests to assess baking characteristics in required bread applications using Grand Mill’s/co-manufactured flour, and conduct periodic tests on competitors’ flour.

  1. Assist and support the R&D team in implementing new product development (NPD) and changes in grist.
  2. Collaborate with the commercial team by visiting customers and providing technical advice and feedback when required.
  • Handle samples and perform analyses according to procedures and test methods, ensuring compliance with local and international standards.
  • Conduct daily tasting sessions with a select panel to assess product quality.
  • Ensure the bakery equipment is maintained in a sound condition through regular calibration and maintenance.
  • Maintain efficient and effective baking processes, ensuring suitable turnaround time targets are met and quality results are reported on time.
  • Monitor the baking process, record observations, and analyze results for accuracy and improvement.

Ensure accurate test baking results are consistently provided to the team.

  • Escalate issues related to out-of-specification final products through the proper channels in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Support customer complaint investigations by performing baking tests as required. Assist in preparing flour additives for production.
  • HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) Responsibilities: 13. Maintain and support a safe working environment in the test bakery, adhering to all safety regulations.

Cost Responsibilities: 14. Maintain appropriate stock levels of consumables for the test bakery, ensuring efficient resource management.


Job Qualifications

  • Formal baking qualification or a Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a bakery or food manufacturing laboratory.
  • Scientific understanding of flour and bread production processes.

  • Ability to comprehend the significance of tests conducted on flour-based products.
  • Proficiency in baking and testing flour-based products.
  • Ability to maintain clean and well-functioning equipment and uphold preparation standards.
