A catering company in Dubai, UAE is looking for a Food Safety and Hygiene Officer with the following:
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and Implement Food Safety Policies: Create and enforce food safety policies and procedures in line with local regulations and company standards.
- Conduct Regular Inspections and Audits: Perform regular inspections and audits of kitchen operations, dining areas, and other relevant spaces to identify potential hazards and ensure prompt corrective actions.
- Staff Training: Provide ongoing training to staff on food safety practices, hygiene standards, and health and safety regulations.
- Monitor Compliance: Ensure that all kitchen operations and dining areas comply with local health and safety regulations, taking necessary actions to address any non-compliance.
- Incident Investigation: Investigate incidents and complaints related to food safety, health, and hygiene, and recommend preventive measures to avoid future occurrences.
- Maintain Records: Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all food safety and health inspections, audits, and corrective actions taken.
- Liaison with Authorities: Work closely with local health authorities to ensure all practices meet regulatory standards and handle any external audits or inspections.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in food safety and quality control processes and implement changes to enhance the overall safety and quality of food services.
Job Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience as a Food/Health & Safety Officer, Senior Quality Controller, or similar role within the hospitality or catering industry.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of UAE food safety regulations and health standards, with a focus on HACCP principles.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify potential hazards and implement effective solutions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and mentor staff on food safety practices.
- Certification: Certification in Food Safety (e.g., HACCP) is preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with relevant food safety software and tools for inspections, audits, and record-keeping.
- Licensing: Candidates with a valid U.A.E. Driving license and access to a vehicle are preferred.
- Location: Candidates must be based in the United Arab Emirates. Strong understanding of the local food safety landscape.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to changing regulations and company standards.
