A 3-star hotel is looking for a Food Safety and Hygiene Officer position in Dubai, UAE to join their team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections of the central kitchen facility, including equipment, storage areas, and food preparation areas, to identify and address any issues or violations.
- Provide training and education to kitchen staff on proper food handling, sanitation procedures, and personal hygiene practices.
- Collaborate with kitchen management and staff to develop corrective actions and improvement plans to address food safety deficiencies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of food safety inspections, training sessions, incidents, and any other relevant documentation.
- Stay informed about current food safety regulations, industry trends, and best practices to ensure continuous improvement and compliance.
- Respond to food safety incidents or complaints promptly, investigate the root cause, and take appropriate corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Conduct internal audits to assess the effectiveness of the food safety program and identify areas for improvement.
- Liaise with external regulatory agencies and participate in inspections and audits as required.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as Quality Assurance, Operations, and Procurement, to ensure coordination and alignment of food safety practices across the organization.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential food safety risks.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
- United Arab Emirates HACCP certified and previous experience in implementation
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
