Responsibilities
The role will include but not be limited to:
- Establishing food safety criteria and standards for food business inspections and audits.
- Maintaining databases of authorized novel foods, KSA and GSO standards, etc.
- Maintaining and building expertise in product regulation, food safety best practices, local public health/food service regulations and industry best practices.
- Developing competency in Good Hygiene Practices (GHPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs), Good Sanitation Practices (GSP), (Highfield) HACCP Levels 1-4, Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS) such as ISO 2200, and quality systems such as ISO 9000.
- Developing and applying knowledge of regulatory food testing and analytical requirements.
- Ensuring new and existing food ingredients adhere to outlined specifications through periodic quality checks.
Qualification
- Must have, as a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in a food-related discipline (e.g., Food Science or Nutrition)
- Strong initiative, communication – both written and verbal – and interpersonal skills
