Research Assistant – Biotechnology

Job Responsibilities

1. Assist in conducting laboratory experiments and research projects in biotechnology, molecular biology, and related fields.
2. Perform DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, gel electrophoresis, and other molecular biology techniques.
3. Support cell culture maintenance, microbial testing, and biochemical assays.
4. Collect, analyze, and document research data with accuracy.
5. Prepare lab reports, presentations, and scientific documentation.
6. Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and quality standards.
7. Assist in the preparation of reagents, buffers, and laboratory materials.
8. Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment as per SOPs.
9. Collaborate with senior researchers and contribute to research publications.
10. Stay updated with advancements in biotechnology and related disciplines.

Job Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
• Experience: 0-1 year of experience in a laboratory setting (internships or academic research experience preferred).
• Skills:
  • Basic knowledge of molecular biology and microbiology techniques.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment and protocols.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to document research findings accurately.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Attention to detail and adherence to lab safety regulations.
