Job Responsibilities

A Biotechnologist working in an ISO 17025 accredited biotechnology laboratory follows strict procedures to ensure accuracy, reliability, and traceability of laboratory results. Their responsibilities involve:

  • Analyze test results, interpret data, and identify deviations or errors.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to instruments, methodology, or sample quality and propose corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with laboratory personnel, quality assurance teams, and supervisors to ensure compliance and timely completion of tasks.
  • Communicate findings clearly in written and verbal English, ensuring effective coordination during audits, meetings, or training sessions.
  • Work independently on assigned tasks while following instructions and maintaining accountability.

  • Participate in internal audits, method validation, and proficiency testing to support laboratory accreditation status.
  • Contribute to improving lab processes, updating SOPs, and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Monitor laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and biosafety standards.
  • Participate in quality control and documentation processes aligned with ISO and GLP guidelines.
  • Collaborate with senior scientists, research associates, and cross-functional teams on project deliverables.
  • Stay updated on the latest biotech trends, techniques, and publications to support innovation.

Job Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related Life Sciences field.
  • Candidates with a Master’s Degree or internship experience in a biotech/research setting will be preferred.

Experience:

  • 0–2 years of hands-on experience in a biotechnology or life sciences lab.
  • Fresh graduates with strong academic knowledge and relevant final-year projects are welcome to apply.
  • UAE residents encouraged to apply.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficiency in standard laboratory techniques including pipetting, cell culture, and PCR.
  • Knowledge of GMP, GLP, ISO 17025, or ISO 9001 standards is a plus.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication in English.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently under supervision.

Perform routine and advanced laboratory procedures such as pipetting, sample preparation, cell culture, DNA/RNA extraction, gel electrophoresis, and Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR).

Maintain sterile and controlled environments to prevent contamination during experiments and sample handling.
