Biotechnologist-Saudi Arabia Location with leading Educational Institute for Biotechnology in Middle East
Job Responsibilities
- Proven experience in the design and operation of specialized bioreactors for bioproducts derived from algal and waste feedstocks.
- Expertise in biological manufacturing process equipment, including supporting utility infrastructure.
- Demonstrated capability in scaling biotechnological processes from laboratory to pilot and full commercial scale.
- Strong background in bioprocess design, fermentation, and process optimization techniques fro Biotechnologist -Saudi Arabia.
- Experience designing experiments and analyzing data for continuous improvement.
- Thorough knowledge of R&D value chains and Technology Readiness Level (TRL) assessments.
- Understanding of intellectual property considerations in applied research and technology development.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
- Experience streamlining workflows and improving productivity through process analysis.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while meeting tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated capacity to collaborate in a multicultural, interdisciplinary research environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in conveying technical content to diverse stakeholders.
Biotechnologist- Responsibilities
- Lead efforts in developing and commercializing biological systems and sustainable bioproducts.
- Identify and implement improvements to existing systems to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Develop and optimize protein purification and concentration protocols for complex biological mixtures.
- Translate innovative research concepts into scalable and defined bioprocesses and system designs.
- Collaborate with internal R&D teams and external fabrication and vendor partners to incorporate cutting-edge technologies and standards.
- Generate detailed design documents, technical specifications, and requirement analyses.
- Convert feedback from stakeholders—including partners, technical teams, and end users—into product design and engineering requirements.
- Participate in prototyping and feasibility analysis of new products and systems using simulation software, workshops, and physical models.
- Work with manufacturing and engineering teams to validate design feasibility, evaluate prototypes, and estimate production costs.
- Define performance metrics and collect feedback to refine and optimize products and processes.
- Contribute to the creation of technology roadmaps, perform gap analyses, and support technology maturation efforts.
- Engage in project reviews, risk assessments, and the implementation of risk mitigation strategies.
Qualifications Biotechnologist -Saudi Arabia
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience.
- Master’s degree holders require a minimum of 8 years of experience.
- PhD holders should have at least 4 years of relevant industry experience.
- Proven expertise in concept prototyping, pilot plant design (including skid-mounted systems), and product development.
- Minimum of 5 years working in an industrial research or engineering role focused on bioprocessing or biotechnology.
- Hands-on experience managing technology transfer projects, troubleshooting process issues, and assessing the technical impact of scale-up and raw material changes.
- Ability to interpret and analyze engineering drawings, process flow diagrams, and system specifications for optimizing design and performance.
- Familiarity with cost-efficient and manufacturable design principles to ensure scalability and reliability.
- Knowledge of compliance standards and experience evaluating designs against internal and external regulatory specifications.
- Practical experience working with bioprocess component suppliers and manufacturing partners.
- In-depth understanding of phase-specific process development with a clear focus on end-user and commercialization requirements.
