Quality Assurance (QA) Intern to join a Food Safety and Quality team in Mumbai. This internship offers hands-on exposure to food safety management, quality control systems, and QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) operations, supporting day-to-day quality assurance activities across suppliers, kitchens, and food handling processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic foundation in food science and a keen interest in food safety compliance within the hospitality and restaurant industry.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to identify, analyze, and resolve quality and food safety issues across operations.
  • Assist in conducting quality control checks, internal food safety inspections, and hygiene audits at kitchens, storage areas, and operational units.
  • Support the QA team in supplier audits and incoming material inspections, ensuring consistency, traceability, and quality of raw materials and ingredients used across the platform.
  • Monitor and support implementation of safe food storage, handling, and transportation practices to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with food safety standards.

  • Participate in root cause identification, documentation of non-conformities, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) food safety systems.
  • Assist in maintaining food safety records, audit reports, checklists, and compliance documentation as per internal standards fro food safety systems.food standards agency
  • Support ongoing compliance with FSSAI regulations, food standards agency, Legal Metrology requirements, Codex Alimentarius standards, and company food safety policies.
  • Coordinate with operations and kitchen teams to promote food safety awareness and quality best practices.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to quality assurance and food safety systems within the QSR and hospitality environment as per the Food Standards Agency.

Qualiifcations – Food Science Intern

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or diploma in Food Technology, Food Science, or a related discipline.
  • Strong interest in food quality assurance, food safety management systems, and the QSR/restaurant industry.
  • FOSTAC certification (Catering / Retail / Manufacturing), fssai training is mandatory or highly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of FSSAI guidelines, food standards agency specifications food safety basics, hygiene practices, and legal compliance.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
  • Willingness to commit to a 6-month full-time internship.
